The Canadian and American governments and their regulating bodies initially approved the sale by this new company to sell nicotine gum. The packaging of this new nicotine gum comes in an assortment of colors. Where this marketing has been primarily geared to teens. But we have to ask, how did this happen? With most federal lawmakers in both countries at least 50 years or older, the question is, do they not remember the cigarette and chewing tobacco cancer rates and the survivors who appeared in commercials exposing to the world, with cancer related surgeries the dangers of smoking and chewing tobacco, and why we shouldn’t smoke or chew tobacco.
We have to consider whether collective amnesia occurred amongst these lawmakers or was there a strong lobbying group. As the pictures and links noted below and at the end of this article, years of smoking or more so years of consuming nicotine is not healthy, in some cases its deadly. They all know this. Especially with several groundbreaking lawsuits in years past suing tobacco companies.

Nicotine consumption is so deadly, Canadian cigarette packages have warning labels with warning pictures. Do we, perhaps need warning labels on all things with nicotine used for consumption?
As a result, the Canadian and American governments have decided to review this new entry of nicotine gum onto the market geared to teens. As well both governments have considered introducing legislation to prevent nicotine marketing to adolescents in the future.
At the end of the day, the consequences for not having smarter legislation is the opportunity for other forms of candy, chocolate, and gum products to enter convenient stores. What would happen if nicotine and THC edibles that looked like our popular brands of candy, chocolate bars, gum, and chips were available for all ages to purchase at convenient stores that were undistinguishable from non-nicotine or non-THC products, what then?
